Former House: Hufflepuff Profession: Keeper for the Holyhead Harpies Location: She was born in the northern part of Wales, and speaks Welsh at home. Her family's home stretches across a large expanse of farmland, where she and her brothers had ample room to play and cause mischief. She attended a Muggle primary school, also taught in Welsh. English was her second language, but she speaks it fluently.  Watching and waiting, she's sittin' with you but her eyes are on the door So many have paid to see What you think you're gettin' for free History (Family/Personal): Samuel Jones was a wizard, his wife Morgan was a muggle, as were their three sons: Michael, Marcus, and Matthew. When Megan came along, they had no idea she was a witch. There had been other witches in Samuel's family; one being a cousin of his named Gwenog, but Samuel never thought one of his children would be magically gifted. Megan didn't show signs of magic until she was around five years old. Her older brothers liked to rough house and she was often thrown into the mix of it. A couple of times, she'd make a vase explode or something to that effect when they'd tickle her or pin her while wrestling. One time she managed to string Marcus up in a tree by the back of his pants after he tied all of her socks together. At Hogwarts, Megan was sorted into Hufflepuff House and had no trouble making friends. She'd initially been pretty nervous about going to a school for witchcraft, but once she entered the magical world she knew she was where she belonged. She ran around with the Hufflepuff girls her age, Susan Bones, Hannah Abbott, among many others. She got along better with the boys though, because she understood how boys operated better due to having three older brothers at home. Her favorite thing about school by far, was watching Quidditch practices and attending matches. In her third year, she tried out for the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and managed to snag the position of Keeper. Hufflepuffs were known for being hard working, and Megan was no exception to the stereotype. She pushed herself beyond her physical limits during practices, and often made her friends throw quaffles around outside for her to catch when other teams were practicing on the pitch. Even when going home for the summer, she'd have her brothers do the same thing. Megan's cousin Gwenog Jones was a star on the Holyhead Harpies pro-Quidditch team, which she was very ecstatic about. She did her best to go to all of their matches, and it came as no big surprise when she was snatched up by the Harpies shortly after graduating from school. Megan started off as an alternate, but over time she became a permanent and well respected player on the team. Her attitude could sometimes come off as a bit cocky, but she was typically able to back it up by playing ruthlessly during games. Occasionally her confidence could get the better of her and she'd suffer injuries, get knocked from her broom, even took a bludger to the head once and was out for a couple of games. But even then, she was just regarded as a dedicated and fearless player. Of course, off the pitch she was often reprimanded for her antics by her coach and captain, but that didn't stop her. Relationships were one of the many things Megan never had a place for in her life. Due to her busy schedule (even during the off-season, Megan is always doing something Quidditch related: interviews, photoshoots, public speaking at Quidditch camps for kids, among a million other things) she's unable to devote her time to hardly anything or anyone else. She does make time for fun, and is often paid to make appearances at pubs and parties. One night when she was out partying, she caught up with an old friend from school. Several drinks later, they ended up going to bed together and a few weeks later Megan was pregnant. She was upset, and actually very scared of it. Megan told the father (whom she refuses to name publically) and they dated for a while. She was forced to bow out for the rest of the Quidditch season, under the guise of a shoulder injury. She kept a very low profile, hiding out in her parents' home once it became noticeable that she was pregnant. Megan tried to make things work with the father of her child, but they were too different in personality. They clashed and fought often about how their life together was going to be; he wanted her to retire from Quidditch for a few years, which she refused because she was rising towards the peak of her career and didn't want that to fizzle out. When things between the two of them came to an end, it was amicable. They worked better as friends, but still had disagreements about the baby. Eventually it was decided that the father would take primary custody. Megan's lifestyle was not ideal for raising a baby, and she had no intentions of changing. During the off season, Megan gave birth to a boy whom she named Matthew after one of her brothers. She initally bonded with him, entranced by how tiny he was and how his eyes were almost exact replicas of hers and his ears were the spitting image of his father's. She was almost reluctant to go along with the agreement she and his father had made about custody. The only extended time she had with Matthew was during the off-season, and that was only for a couple of weeks. Maybe a weekend here or there, and a little time during certain holidays. However, as soon as she was back in top physical condition and got back into her usual routine, it wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. Megan wasn't ready to be a mother, simple as that. The only people who knew about her child were her teammates, her coach, her immediate family, and her publicist. They were all sworn to secrecy about Matthew, but the paparazzi and Megan's love for attention made it difficult to keep it under wraps for too long. When Matthew was two, one of them managed to snap a photograph of the two of them coming out of her flat. Once the rumor mill started churning, Megan really had no choice but to address the issue (through her publicist of course). It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be, and actually made things easier for her during the time she spent with her son. She could take him to events, interviews, and photoshoots instead of having to schedule around his visits and come up with excuses. Her teammates all babied Matthew when he was around, though he was always very shy around them. The relationship Megan has with Matthew is more of a friendship than parent-child. She feels that since she isn't as involved in his life as a typical parent would be, that she shouldn't try to overstep any boundaries. That would be hypocritical of her, in her eyes. Matthew came to know his mother through photographs and the few occasions when his father took him to some of her Quidditch matches. He was very shy and reluctant to go with her the first few times he was taken to visit with her, but he grew more attached to her over time when he understood that she was his mother. He was often confused over why he couldn't see her any time he wanted like his playmates could with their mothers, but his father did his best to explain the situation. When Matthew got to see Megan in action with the other Harpies, a sort of idol-worship developed. He always asked his father to buy every magazine or newspaper that had her picture on it, and typically cut the pictures out and pasted them in an album when he was old enough to use scissors and paste by himself. He grew to love going to play with his Mum for a couple of week, though he was usually very quiet around her once he was actually with her. He just knew he got to stay up as late as he wanted and eat ice cream for breakfast when he stayed with her, which his father would never allow. In the not-to-distant future, several life changes are going to take hold of Megan's everyday routine. Her world is going to shift dramatically, and she will be forced to really grow up and take responsibility for her actions. Her role as a mother will come more into play, and eventually take top priority. How she will handle that is left to be seen. Megan loves to entertain and make people smile. She also likes attention, which can be both good and bad. She's very fun to be around, and can liven up any situation. Due to this, a lot of pubs will pay for her to show up and stir things up, as well as to gain publicity. Her reputation is a bit of a bad girl, which she plays up to when she's being followed by the paparazzi. Anything to keep people talking. She's also known for talking up the Harpies and her abilities as Keeper for the team. Not so much in an obnoxiously arrogant way, but to display her love for her team and loyalty to her teammates. She's full of spirit, and it shows when she works the crowd during games. She backs up her talk by being a very skilled Quidditch player, but sometimes her ego gets the better of her and she'll take risks that should be considered wreckless (though she's often heralded as dedicated to the game instead). When it comes to the matter of her son Matthew, Megan is still very fun-loving and playful. During his brief visits, she spoils him with gifts and shows him off to her teammates. She's more of a friend to Matthew than a mother, which will make things very difficult in the future once she is thrown headfirst into having full custody of him. NEGATIVE: Flaws: She's very small, so despite being in near perfect shape, she lacks the size and strength of the rest of her team -- let alone other teams. Megan is also a bit of a lightweight when it comes to alcohol (which she likes to consume a lot of). Personality Flaws: Sometimes her fearlessness makes her arrogant. She likes to show off during games sometimes, which can prove disastrous if her ego gets the better of he (like taking a bludger to the head in order to save a quaffle).
